About Our Traditional Estate Sales
From modern or antique furnishings, to cars, trucks, and equipment, Sterling has the knowledge and experience to sell the contents of your home or business! A Traditional Estate Sale is your top option for sales income.
Estate sale needs vary with each client. Whether your estate sale is due to downsizing, divorce, life status changes, or other reasons, we are here to help. We are committed to serving you and making the estate sale process as smooth and profitable as possible.
Our Traditional Estate Sale process begins with a free walk-through and/or picture evaluation of your home's contents, including garage, attics and any outbuildings on the property. (You never know what forgotten item or treasure will be found!)
Your best interest always come first. Rather than simply “liquidating” your items, we strive for “fair market value” in turning your assets into cash. In addition, we are knowledgeable about which of your items will sell, and how to price them. (See our Certifications, here.) After our walkthrough, we will determine if we're a good fit for you. If we are, we'll agree upon the percentage of sales, ensure all related paperwork is in place (please see our FAQ here), and set the date of your sale.
Note that if you are still living in the home, we will ask that you be largely absent during the time that we are staging (placing items to their best advantage, pricing, photographing items) and conducting the actual sale. (Talk to us about the specific amount of time needed to prepare your sale.)
Most sales take place over two days. During that time we will staff your sale, manage customers, and handle all other sale requirements. When your sale is complete, for an additional fee we can bring in a company that will remove unsold items to charity, recycling or disposal. At our request they will leave your home or business in "broom clean" condition. You can simply request this service or we can provide you with an estimate for it.
You should receive a check for your percentage of the proceeds within two weeks of the sale's end.
NOTE: If the home is going on the market, a sale can be a good time for us to work with the Real Estate Agent that will be listing the home. An estate sale brings in tons of people, and some of those people may be interested in buying your property. We will gladly hand out your Real Estate Agent's cards or flyers during the sale. Having a Realtor Open House during our sale is another way you may possibly sell your home faster. We find having an Agent at the sale works great as he or she is present to answer any questions potential buyers may have.
